Recent Notes
We strive to not have technical difficulties, but stuff happens. In an effort to help you stay abreast of these issues we are keeping a log of events as they take place. Many of these events are localized issues and do not cause problems for everyone; not to minimize the importance of any one site.
If you experience any issues with your site please contact us as soon as possible and we will strive to correct the problem immediately.

Recent Issues
- 070710 Last Night our web server experienced an outage and had to have a system restore, causing duplicate emails or off hour emails. In a few cases, we are discovering that there are some missing emails from this brief down time. We apologize for any inconvience and have done everything possible to protect and restore your data.
- 070522 DNS issues are wide spread along the east coast today. Internet Traffic Report is a good daily resource for tracking packet loss and is showing 0s especially in the region of Florida with the smaller ISPs. DNS issues are usually quick to correct themselves and unfortunately out of our control.
Preventative Maintenance
- 071024 midnight to midnight (24 hours) - MINIMAL POTENTIAL RISK We are preparing for the introduction of additional tools to augment our Managed Backup offering. This maintenance is focused on upgrading hardware that will support and optimize the Managed Backup environment by increasing capacity to meet our customers' increasing demand.
- 070915 06:00AM to 09:00PM PST - MINIMAL POTENTIAL RISK Back on August 19th we replaced primary power cables feeding our DFW1 data center. The power cables were successfully replaced but there was not enough time remaining in the maintenance window to finish prepping the new cables. In the upcoming maintenance window we will complete the work started back in August. We will follow the same procedures as the previous maintenance to switch power away from the areas being worked on. We will switch to generator power to keep all services running. The DFW data center is capable of running indefinitely on generator power. We do not expect this maintenance to have any impact to servers.
- 070819 04:00AM to 06:00PM PST - MINIMAL POTENTIAL RISK During scheduled work to support data center expansion we discovered that some primary power cables feeding our DFW1 data center had developed potentially hazardous wear. These cables are showing signs that they could cause a sudden loss of utility power at the facility. If there were to be a loss of utility power, we have uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and backup generators on site to prevent disruption. In order to prevent an unplanned loss of power we will be replacing the worn power equipment.
During this maintenance, we will switch to generator power and will keep all services running. The DFW data center is capable of running indefinitely on generator power. We do not expect this maintenance to have any impact to servers but do want to advise our customers of the maintenance in the event that there are unexpected problems.
- 070714 10:01PM to 1:00AM PST - MINIMAL POTENTIAL RISK We are increasing the packet size used in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) communication in our DFW1 facility. This increase will provide for faster BGP convergence thus improving the performance of the DFW1 network. We are configured with redundancy for fault tolerance allowing maintenances of this type to be completed without planned downtime. During this maintenance you may experience multiple episodes of brief network latency and some packet loss as traffic is shifted away from devices being updated. Some customers with applications using persistent TCP connections may notice the traffic shift requiring them to reestablish TCP connections.
- 070714 10:01PM to 1:00AM PST - Regularly scheduled monthly maintenance. These events are very low risk.
- 070617 11:01PM to 9:00AM PST - These events are very low risk.
- 070617 11:01PM to 9:00AM PST - We will be performing a maintenance that extends beyond the normally reserved 6 hour maintenance window. It is very rare for us to plan a maintenance of this length. It was determined that performing the below described maintenance in a manner that would fit into 6 hour blocks would introduce additional risk to customers. The current plan has been put together taking risk, impact, and duration into consideration.
We will be adding power distribution units (PDUs) to the current power infrastructure. There is no planned impact to customers but in order to safely complete this maintenance power will temporarily be shifted to a secondary source. In the unlikely event that there is a secondary power source failure, servers with single power supplies will lose power while servers connected to a single switch will lose connectivity.
- 070617 11:01PM to 12:30AM PST - We will be removing invalid and unnecessary routes from our aggregate routers. There will be no impact attributed to this clean up effort unless an active route is mistakenly removed. If this occurs customers may experience downtime until the route can be reestablished. This maintenance will improve memory utilization, shorten reconvergence times, and reduce complications from duplicate routes.
